The phone app
One app, two doors: the crew door and the office door. Either signs into the same company.
The native app opens on a choice, not a login form. I'm on the crew is work orders with their tasks and photographs, the site visits you are down for with the window the site was given, the punch list, your hours and the fortnight ahead. I'm in the office is the company's numbers, every job and its money, everything waiting on a decision, where the crew is - and taking an enquiry down while somebody is still on the phone.
The choice is remembered and switchable from the Me tab for accounts that hold both. An account with nothing behind a door is told so at sign-in and pointed at the other one.
What the phone does that a browser cannot
On a site visit the camera is the primary control: press the shutter, then describe the thing you are still looking at. Addresses open in Maps, phone numbers dial, and the session survives a cold start, so the app is already signed in on the roof at 7am.
A photograph taken with no signal is not lost. It is copied out of the camera roll into the app's own storage, queued, and sent when the connection returns - at launch, on returning to the app, or by hand from the banner that shows what is waiting. Nothing leaves the queue until the server confirms it arrived.
The web Field Mode is not replaced by any of this: a crew member on a borrowed phone or an unenrolled tablet still files the day through the browser.
