Follow-ups and hand-offs

A company that never gets reminded of anything relies on the memory of whoever happens to be in that morning.

Follow-ups is one queue built from the records themselves: proposals that have gone quiet, payments coming due, warranties reaching their halfway point or their last ninety days, and anything you asked to be reminded about. Each knows what it is about, so the record is one click away.

  1. It builds itselfThe queue is swept from the records hourly. Mark one done and it stays done; the underlying record moving also clears it.
  2. Snooze honestlyLater pushes it three days. It comes back - the queue does not forget because you did.
  3. Set your ownAny record can carry a reminder with a date and an owner, repeating if you want it to.

Handing work to somebody

Their flow has three owners in sequence - the inspector, the supervisor who prices, the office that writes it up. A hand-off is an explicit act: it records who passed it, who received it and what for, tells them, shows as waiting on them until they pick it up, and keeps reminding them until they do. "Who has this?" is therefore always answerable.

The weekly summary email is two lists built from this queue: yours - what is sitting with you - and the company's, for people who can see the admin panel.

Access: Everyone sees their own queue; seeing everybody's needs the panel.
